ONTARIO, Canada — On August 27, Wutai Shan Buddhist Garden in Canada held its annual Ullambana Festival and Grand Sangha Offering, bringing together nearly 80 monastics from the Mahayana, Theravada, and Tibetan traditions to receive offerings and foster cross-cultural dialogue through traditional rituals.
Rooted in the Ullambana tradition of filial piety and repaying parental kindness, the festival underscored the shared core values of compassion, wisdom, and world peace across all Buddhist lineages.
