MARKHAM, Ontario — The Ontario College of Traditional Chinese Medicine (OCTCM) held its 2026 graduation ceremony and annual academic banquet on August 29 at the Hilton Toronto/Markham Suites, celebrating the graduation of 88 new practitioners.

More than 150 attendees—including academic leaders from Canada and China, industry sponsors, faculty, and graduates’ families—gathered for the joint celebration held alongside the 13th Canadian Registered TCM Practitioners and Acupuncturists Continuing Education Academic Conference.

The 2026 graduating class included 47 graduates from the Acupuncture program, 33 from Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), and 8 from the Advanced TCM Practitioner program. OCTCM President Prof. Wu Binjiang and Dean of Studies Prof. Dylan Kirk presented diplomas to the graduates, followed by a ceremonial recitation of Sun Simiao’s classic ethical oath, Dayi Jingcheng (Great Physician’s Sincerity), led by Prof. Kirk.

Established in 1998, OCTCM operates campuses in Markham and downtown Toronto, offering programs eligible for OSAP funding and international student enrollment. The college features modern training facilities equipped with bilingual 3D anatomical modeling systems, pulse-diagnosis simulators, tongue/facial diagnostic devices, and a comprehensive library. It also publishes the bilingual e-journal World Chinese Medicine (Canada Edition).

In clinical training, OCTCM maintains five practical training bases, including campus clinics and integrated elderly-care TCM clinics situated at Mon Sheong Court in Markham and Scarborough, while regularly organizing clinical internships at affiliated university hospitals across China.
