Set against the lush, mid-summer backdrop of the Sangke Grassland, the second Global Media Launch for Gannan cultural tourism, \u201cSacred Gannan: Journey of the Soul,\u201d kicked off on Sunday, drawing journalists, influencers, videographers, and photographers from 23 countries.<\/p>\n

Representatives from nations including the UK, France, Canada, Australia, Spain, Malaysia, and Thailand joined domestic media to explore and report on the ecological and cultural diversity of the Gannan Prefecture.<\/p>\n

Situated at the intersection of Gansu, Qinghai, and Sichuan provinces, Gannan rests on the northeastern edge of the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau. It serves as a vital geographical and cultural crossroads where the plateau meets the loess earth, and where nomadic traditions seamlessly blend with agrarian civilization. This historical legacy of ancient trade routes and diverse ethnic heritage has cultivated a region renowned for its openness and profound cultural depth.<\/p>\n

During the event, local tourism officials outlined Gannan\u2019s extensive travel resources, spanning across natural ecology, red tourism, and folk traditions. With 41 Grade-A scenic attractions currently under its belt, Gannan offers visitors a wide array of high-altitude environments, featuring stunning natural wonders such as the fairyland-like Zhagana and the multicoloured Dayu Valley in Zhuoni, as well as renowned red tourism sites including Lazikou and Ejie in Diebu.<\/p>\n

To further modernize its tourism infrastructure, Gannan officials debuted three new “Highway Tourism” routes: the Jiangdie Highway of Zhuoni County, the Zanhua Route of Zhouqu County, and the Heye Highway of Hezuo City. These routes are designed to transform regional roadways from mere transit corridors into immersive experiences, connecting pristine forests, deep canyons, and remote, hidden realms of the plateau.<\/p>\n

In addition to its breathtaking landscapes, Gannan\u2019s rich ethnic heritage is central to its allure. A lineup of upcoming events is designed to further expand on this cultural depth.<\/p>\n

At the launch, Shi Chengjuan, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Hezuo Municipal Committee and Acting Mayor of Hezuo, officially promoted the upcoming 24th Jiuse Gannan Shangri-La Tourism & Arts Festival. Evolving from a traditional local gathering, the festival has become one of the most prominent platforms for showcasing Gannan\u2019s ethnic heritage and modern development.<\/p>\n

Shang Youjun, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefectural Committee, emphasized that the goal of the global media launch is to show the world a Gannan that is naturally magnificent, culturally diverse, and brimming with developmental vitality. He expressed his sincere hope that every traveller can find solace and inner peace along the route of “Sacred Gannan, Journey of the Soul.”<\/p>\n
